Sydney, Australia - Sep/Oct '16
Visiting Sydney, the most populous and one of the most beautiful cities in Australia. Sydney surrounds the world's largest natural harbor, and sprawls towards the Blue Mountains to the west.
We were enjoying:
- Visit to our relatives and friends,
- Visit to the Blue Mountains on September 30th. The Blue Mountains is a mountainous region and a mountain range located 50 km north-west of Sydney central business district.
- Visit to town of Katoomba on September 30th. It is the chief town of the City of Blue Mountains. Katoomba is situated on the Great Western Highway 110 km west of Sydney.
- Visit to the Three Sisters rock formation on September 30th. Katoomba's main industry is tourism based on its mountain scenery. The rock formation known as the Three Sisters, viewable from Echo Point about 2 km south of the main town attracts four million visitors each year.
- Visit to town of Leura on September 30th. It is one of the series of small towns stretched along the Main Western railway line and Great Western Highway that bisects the Blue Mountains National Park. Leura is situated adjacent to Katoomba, the largest center in the upper mountains, and the two towns merge along Leura's western edge.
- Visit to the Hunter Valley on October 3rd. The Hunter Valley is a region of New South Wales, Australia, extending from approximately 120 km to 310 km north of Sydney. The Hunter Valley is one of the largest river valleys on the NSW coast, and is a major tourist destination in New South Wales. It is the 6th most visited place in Australia attracting more than 2.5 million people annually. The Hunter Valley is one of Australia's most famous wine-growing regions, known for both its red and white wine varieties. Hunter Valley Semillon is widely considered the iconic wine of the region but the Hunter produces wine from a variety of grapes including Shiraz, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Verdelho.
