Approaching Grand Teton National Park from east side. August 13th - Saturday.
After 7 hours of driving from Loveland, CO Grand Teton is on horizon.
A year ago we climbed CMC on Mount Moran (12,605ft = 3.842m).
Above Bradley and Taggart Lakes.
Just before camp in South Fork we rescued climber from crevasse. We saved his life since he was in pretty bad shape, almost frozen.
We put our tents at highest spots in South Fork at about 10,000ft.
From the saddle between South and Middle Tetons: Icefloe Lake below is still frozen - mid August???
South Teton (12,514ft = 3.814m) to the west of saddle...
We summited Middle Teton (12,804ft = 3.902m) through SW coulior.
At the top of Middle Teton (12,804ft - 3.902m). Grand Teton (13,770ft = 4.197m) is just east from us.
Impressive view towards the Valley.
South Teton (12,514ft = 3.814m) is "much" lower.
Descending is not easy.
Middle Teton (12,804ft - 3.902m) is behind us.
We met our friends from Chicago, IL.
Having dinner together.
We were back to Loveland, CO the same day. The next day we spent in Rocky Mounatin National Park - Longs Peak (14,259ft = 4.346m) behind us.
Between mushroom rocks...
... at about 12,300ft or 3.749m.
Alpine Visitor Center at 11,796ft or 3.595m in elevation, it is the highest visitor center in the national park system.
Snowy sceneries (in August?!) and many lakes...
... were everywhere around.
Rocky Mountain wildlife...
... was visible, too.
