Muztagh Ata 2014

Muztagh Ata (7.546 m or 24,757 ft) is highest skiable mountain in the world.
In July 2014. I attempted to reach the summit.
My plan was to summit Muztagh Ata on skis without porters, cooks, or a guide.
Muztagh Ata is quite impressive.
Standing all alone and not being part of a chain of peaks and being much farther north than the Himalayas give it the reputation of being a cold mountain.
The problems lie in coping with the high altitude, the cold and the weather.
Mt Muztagh Ata has an exceptional neighborhood : the Karakoram range, at the south, Tajikistan and the Pamir range, at the west, Takla Makan desert ("if you go in you don't come out" in the Uyghur language) at the east and at the north Tien Shan mountains and the fabled city of Kashgar.

In Kashgar is the biggest bazaar in northwest China --- Grand Bazaar (also known as Central Asia International Grand Bazaar).
It has a history of more than 2,000 years and was known as 'the largest bazaar in Asia' in ancient times.
There are over 5,000 booths in the bazaar selling thousands of goods, including some folk handicrafts like knives and carpets.
It is a shopping heaven for visitors.
For thousands of years, it has been regarded as the economic, political, cultural and communication center south of the Tien Shan Mountains.
Benefiting from its geographical position, the climate is temperate and pleasant with four distinct seasons.
Kashgar is an oasis county-level city and is the westernmost Chinese city, located near the border with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
It is the administrative centre of Kashgar Prefecture of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region which has an area of 162,000 square kilometres (63,000 sq mi) and a population of approximately 3.5 million.
The city's urban area covers 15 km2 (5.8 sq mi), though its administrative area extends for 555 km2 (214 sq mi).
The district consists of 10 counties.
