Night before climb we got more than meter of new snow with strong wind
Waiting for decision - what to do?
For the continuation of climbing we need supplemental bottled oxygen
Oxygen masks and regulators are in place ...
Everest North Ridge is in front of us
This is our goal:
C2 supposed to be in the middle of this view,
C3 supposed to be all the way up - close to the North Ridge,
Summit is on the right side.
New experience with supplemental oxygen
View towards west - Pumori (7.165m = 23,507ft in the middle) and Cho Oyu (8.206m = 26,923ft to the right - sixth largest mountain in the world)
The wind is picking up.
Wind gusts were up to 75km/h or 47mph
Decision was made: go back!
Wind was too dangerous!
I was at 7.550 meter or 24,770 feet elevation.
By the way - it was my personal record.
We were pretty reluctant to go down ...
It was hard to accept such decision ...
Wind was strong again next day ...
